Mehmet Dede is a music presenter, tour producer and educator. Since 2005, he has produced and booked hundreds of local and nationwide concerts, including collaborations with Lincoln Center, Central Park SummerStage, the Town Hall and the Kennedy Center in DC. He currently serves as Director of Programming at Drom, a 300 people-capacity club in downtown Manhattan and is the curator of the NY Gypsy Festival. His consulting expertise is often sought by agencies in France, Hungary, England, Poland and Romania for US tours. Previously, Mehmet has worked on concerts and marketing campaigns for Jamiroquai, Amy Winehouse, The Roots, Norah Jones, Jill Scott, Nelly Furtado, Mark Ronson at concert promoter Giant Step. He started teaching five years ago at NYU’s Music Business program and currently serves as Assistant Professor of Music Industry at The Hartt School music conservatory at the University of Hartford. He regularly conducts workshops for artists and managers abroad. A 19-year New York resident Dede was profiled in The Wall Street Journal, PBS, Forbes, and Inside Arts Magazine.
