Laura T Fisher is the Co-Founder of Not In Our House and Coordinator of the Chicago Theatre Standards. An award-winning Chicago-based actor, she has appeared at Steppenwolf, Goodman, Chicago Shakespeare, Court, Northlight and many others. Laura has also performed throughout the US and internationally in the UK, Singapore, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. She is a member AEA and SAG-AFTRA with a variety of film and television credits including upcoming features CAPTIVE STATE and WIDOWS. As a theatre artist, she has been an actor, teacher, producer, director, artistic director, devisor and more. As Coordinator of The Chicago Theatre Standards, Laura coordinated dozens of theatre companies and artists in Chicago over a 2-year period to write and pilot the CTS. Since its completion, she has visited theatre communities and universities throughout the US. Over 100 AEA and non-AEA theatres have adopted the document, available at notinourhouse.org. Laura and her NIOH Co-Founder Lori Myers have been honored with Stage Left’s Hallie Flanagan Award, Rivendell Theatre’s WREN award, and have been recognized by The Illinois Arts Foundation, and the Chicago Chapter of the US National Committee for UN Women.
