Dr. Brett Ashley Crawford is an Associate Teaching Professor at Carnegie Mellon University and serves as the Executive Director of the Arts Management and Technology Laboratory. Her research and consulting interests circulate in the realms of audiences, engagement, stakeholder participation, external relations, gender and management, 21st century management systems and technology. She holds an MFA in arts administration and a PhD in theatre history and criticism. She has 25 years of professional theatre experience as an AEA stage manager, director, writer, and theatre manager in New York, Georgia, Tennessee, and Maryland/DC. She served as managing director for 3 institutions, the last being Imagination Stage in Bethesda, MD (2006-2012). She has presented lectures and workshops to international and domestic audiences including the University of Helsinki, the Association of Arts Presenters, National Arts Marketing Project, Association for Theatre in Higher Education, the DC Coalition on Heritage and Tourism, Performing Arts Exchange, Theatre Communications Group and the Center for Cultural Studies at UC Santa Cruz. @brettashley13 linkedin: drbrettashley
